Scholarships & Awards

The annual ACT Arts Centre Careers in Arts Awards support the artistic achievements, aspirations and professional development of young people intending to pursue a career in the Arts. The merit-based awards (Music, Dance, Drama/Technical Theatre, Visual Arts & Media Arts and Literary Arts.) provide scholarship funds for continued study at an accredited post-secondary university or college and professional development opportunities at the state-of the-art ACT Arts Centre. In addition to scholarship funding, recipients, other candidates and past winners of the awards may be invited to perform in an ACT Honours Showcase Performance for the public on the Mainstage Theatre of the ACT Arts Centre each spring. Visual Artists may be invited to participate in a professionally-curated ensemble exhibition of their work displayed at the public Art Gallery at the ACT Arts Centre in August.  All applicants should prepare to participate in their respective showcase activities if selected, but participation is not mandatory to receive the award.
