About the Series
For newcomers and aficionados alike, the Sunday Chamber Music Series presents casual afternoons of engaging and informative classical masterworks for small ensembles performed by some of the finest classical musicians in Canada and beyond.
This season’ series presents astounding works of genius from the very young, music written by child prodigies and child prodigies who grew into even more astonishing adult composers.
Curated by violinist David Gillham, the series celebrates a rich kaleidoscope of young genius, culminating with one of the most exciting young string quartets on the world stage today.
The Music of Youth is, ultimately, the music of hope.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
Legendary Canadian Pianist Robert Silverman serves as eminent emcee, as one of Canada’s international young meteoric stars of the keyboard joins acclaimed violinist David Gillham for a concert of music from the undisputed ‘grandmaster‘ of classical music, J.S. Bach.
A native of Salmon Arm, as a student, Jaeden Izik-Dzurko was the winner of the most recent Robert and Ellen Silverman Piano Concerto competition and went on to triumph at some of the most grueling international piano competitions, taking First Prize at the 2022 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, the 2022 Maria Canals International Music Competition and was the J.S. Bach Prize winner at the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal Competition. He has performed in Wigmore Hall in London, Salle Cortot in Paris, and the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, among others, and made his debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2022.
The concert will take place within an interview-style conversation among the performers, led by legendary pianist Robert Silverman, whose recently published book, Bach’s Sonic Tapestry, is an informal yet informative study of Bach’s monumental 48-part The Well-Tempered Clavier of 1722.

International Piano Competition
“[Izik-Dzurko displayed]…one of the most refined tonal palettes I have ever heard, combined with a polished close-to-the-keys technique, and a certain basic humility in the service of the music.”
