2024 School Workshops for SD42

Join us this fall for educational and engaging workshops designed specifically for school groups. The ACT Arts Centre’s school workshops are designed for students in grades 1-7 and follow learning objectives that align with the BC Curriculum!

About the exhibition – Picturing Ourselves

Picturing Ourselves features five creators who use portraiture to share the significance of self-representation – whether themselves, their families, or communities.

Artists Cara Guri, Odera Igbokwe, Jake Kimble, Len Pierre and Gloria Wong seek unique ways of approaching portraiture in an image-saturated world.

The artists’ works raise questions of agency over one’s image, how culture and community are represented, and reveal new perspectives of a historical art form.
