The ACT Annual Juried Exhibition

The ACT Art Gallery’s Annual Juried Exhibition is an open call showcase of artworks responding to a specific theme. The exhibition is an opportunity for emerging Lower Mainland-based artists to show their work in a gallery setting. The jury selects works based on their relation to the theme, technical proficiency, and conceptual execution.

Juried Exhibition 2022: We Begin Again

Exhibition dates: November 5 – December 29, 2022

The 2022 Juried Exhibition theme is We Begin Again, to reflect a year of restarting old routines, and embarking on new ones. At this late stage of the pandemic, we accept fluctuating guidelines, and enjoy an overall return to gatherings, events, and face-to-face socializing. In the ebbs and flows of restrictions, we’ve restarted our routines many times over as we emerge into a new phase of social restoration. We encourage submissions that respond to questions such as: What parts of your life have you restarted? What kinds of new plans, goals, and dreams are you putting into place? What futures do you envision?

Free guided tours: Saturdays at 2pm. December 3rd and December 10th.

On select Saturdays, The ACT Art Gallery offers free tours guided by volunteer docents for small groups of 2-6 patrons. The 30–45-minute tour guides participants through an exploration of the artworks in relation to the theme of each exhibition, and encourage discussion amongst participants. Tea and refreshments are offered following the tours.

Prior registration is required. Participants who have registered but are unable to attend are requested to notify the Ticket Centre 24 hours ahead of the tour.
